Nutrition: Chocolate Milk May Reduce Inflammation

Pretty cool news, but:

Move over, red wine. Make room for chocolate milk. . . . Researchers noted, however, that the effect was not as pronounced as that seen with red wine.

So, the new kid in town is . . . demonstrably inferior to the champ?

I consume about 45 mL of cocoa powder every morning. I wonder if I'm getting any sort of effective anti-inflammatory effect. I think it makes me feel a little better in general, though I hadn't thought about it specifically with respect to pain.

About that PT appointment I have for tomorrow morning . . . PT's office just called me to cancel, as he has to go to a funeral. Doh. I can have an appointment with his partner, though. Not the person my doctor referred me to, but certainly better than waiting until August.

Just . . . argh! Also, ow.

Well, I've seen the doctor, and he's diagnosed me with "overuse both forearms/wrists". He's referred me to a PT, with whom I should have an appointment next Wednesday morning, assuming nothing goes horribly wrong with the Worker's Comp. The recommendation is for a good exercise and stretching program. One interesting thing, he explicitly pointed out that I needed to work on strengthening the large muscles in the upper torso which support the arms, suggesting that it's weakness there which is leading to fatigue where it hurts.

So the good news is that I still don't need surgery. Hopefully this time this PT thing will work.

Forearm pain so bad I left work early. Only stayed as long as I did because I had a meeting at 3, just as I was about to leave, and there didn't seem any reason not to stay for that; it's not like I had to type. And it was sort of important I be there.

Slivovitz == medicine. I think I'll nap shortly. And I'm going to try to cut way back on the typing. So if I'm not too chatty online, that's why. OTOH, don't ignore me for my own good; I get lonely.
