marcmagus: Me playing cribbage in regency attire (Default)

I've just booked my flights to Atlanta for Dragon*Con. I get in at about 2:30 in the afternoon on Friday, and fly out arount 6pm on Monday.

I'll be staying with [livejournal.com profile] jesstna and friends. We met at I-Con, had one of those moments where we were each convinced we'd met the other before, and have been corresponding fairly regularly since. It should be nice to see her again.

There's a good chance I'll be organizing a demonstration/playtest of "Giant Circular Fluxx" during the convention. I'll explain more about that if I get around to writing a GenCon report, but I want to prioritize writing my playtest report.

Outside of the convention festivities, I'm looking forward to seeing [livejournal.com profile] jhadania and her husband, who have graciously offered to give me a ride from the airport into Atlanta (our flights land within 5 minutes of one another). I get to have dinner with them and my good friend David (and his husband), who I haven't seen in many years. Rumor has it that [livejournal.com profile] deyaniera (and her neck husband, who I've never met) will be in town as well, so hopefully I'll get to see them at some point, either at dinner with the others or some other time.

Anybody else going to the monster of a convention that I hear Dragon*Con is? We should try to meet up sometime.

(Funny note: I started second-guessing myself about a bit of grammar above. This led to some IMing, which led to my saying, "Three out of three grammar bitches agree.")

I wasn't planning to post about GenCon just yet, as I still have a playtest report to write from notes, but...

A company called Cheese Weasel Logistics, who make a very cool product called the Card Coffin, have been nice and friendly every time I've been to their booth at a convention, and who not only kindly donated a Card Coffin to the NSO at Origins '04 when I asked at their booth, but gave me another one when I stopped by to thank them during Origins '05 (I didn't ask this time, honest), ran a very cool meta-game at GenCon this year. It started with a man standing outside the Exhibitor's Hall with an exclamation mark over his head announcing loudly, "This item starts a quest."
