Balticon con report interrupted by the following:
I just got a phone call from a friend of mine who is the owner of two wonderful pet rats. For some reason, the airline wouldn't let her fly home with them as usual, and she wasn't able to find another airline which would. She's had to leave the rats with a pet store in Queens, who have agreed not to sell them until the end of the week.
My friend is living in San Fransisco for about a year, then will be returning to New York. Is there anybody out there who feels comfortable caring for a couple of well-behaved rats for a year? Is there, by some amazing chance, somebody who's planning to head out to California by a non-airline method and could bring them along? (Hey, much stranger things have happened among my friends.)
I wonder if this will turn into an experiment in how well Fandom Express handles live cargo...
