The Game Show Network just aired a two-hour special on Press Your Luck. Somebody figured out the patterns and crushed the game. They aired it in the normal sequence, but never reran that episode.
My question to all of you, of those who watched Press Your Luck, who out there also noticed that there were two "safe" spaces on the board which never had Whammies? Who noticed that the board spaces lit up in a definite sequence? Who noticed there was more than one sequence? Did anybody actually count the number and length of the sequences?
Seriously, I always wondered why more people didn't do better on that show - it seemed pretty clear to me that it was a game of skill, not luck. But the Whammies were really cute...
