[livejournal.com profile] fnordfromabove posted this thing wherein you write the first 15 songs on your shuffled playlist, appending "in my Pants" to each. I didn't think it was particularly interesting, but it got the thought process stuck in my head like an earworm, and I started noticing the titles of the songs coming up. In other news . . . lots of stuff, actually. Posts regarding ProCon, Lunacon, and springtime are percolating and may well appear in the near future. Possibly another one/series separate from Lunacon with board game reviews for games I played for the first time during the convention. [livejournal.com profile] mithrigil organized a potluck dinner/dessert party last night, and it occurred to me to make pancakes. They appear to have been well received.

The beverage was equal parts Sam's Cream Stout and half-and-half. The stout lent a nice, hearty, grainy flavor to the pancakes (someone asked if I'd used whole grain), and the creaminess of the half-and-half was expectedly pleasant. They were maybe a little less fluffy than they often are, perhaps due to the milk fat.

I had "conveniently" mixed up extra dry mix, which I took home. I got hungry just now, and decided to make half a batch for myself. There's this Fuller's ESB which materialized in my kitchen from gods-know-where, which is probably past its "Best By" date. It's not all that pleasant to drink, but the pancakes are really nice and fluffy. Nothing exciting flavor-wise, but nothing unpleasant either.

I'll need to keep ingredients on hand so I make these more often...
