The beverage was equal parts Sam's Cream Stout and half-and-half. The stout lent a nice, hearty, grainy flavor to the pancakes (someone asked if I'd used whole grain), and the creaminess of the half-and-half was expectedly pleasant. They were maybe a little less fluffy than they often are, perhaps due to the milk fat.
I had "conveniently" mixed up extra dry mix, which I took home. I got hungry just now, and decided to make half a batch for myself. There's this Fuller's ESB which materialized in my kitchen from gods-know-where, which is probably past its "Best By" date. It's not all that pleasant to drink, but the pancakes are really nice and fluffy. Nothing exciting flavor-wise, but nothing unpleasant either.
I'll need to keep ingredients on hand so I make these more often...
