I just spent an evening opening key seams in a pair of dress pants and sewing hook-and-loop fastener in their place. If anybody reading this is on the fence about coming to Vassar RHPS, perhaps I can tempt you with the idea of two young men ripping their pants off on stage...

I think the most amusing part was when I opened a seam, looked at the pants, and then decided I was taking the wrong approach, reassembled that seam, then opened different seams to put the tear-away into. Then discovered at the end of the whole process that I'd slipped about a half-inch when I redid the seam, and decided it hung ok and was easier to re-cuff the leg and iron the cuff in its new position than to rip the seam and re-stitch it (that was probably a mistake, but it's amusing), so I did so.

My other mistake was more irritating: I carefully prepared some fastener tape for use in one seam, and the proceeded to use it for a different seam, causing me to have to have a gap in one of my seams that shouldn't have been there. I think this is a corrolary to the principle of "measure twice, cut once". Oh well.

Made myself some of my nice tea an hour or so ago, and the caffeine hit me a lot harder than I expected. I probably won't be able to sleep for a while. That combined with the Gin Daisy I made myself because I wanted a drink has left me in a bit of an odd mood . . . not sure how to occupy myself until I wind down.

I hope the pants fit him . . ..

Gin being one of the few alcohols that doesn't make me want to wrinkle my nose, I'm curious. What's in a Gin Daisy?
