Haven't updated in a couple weeks. Lunacon and I-Con reports will hopefully be forthcoming. Recovery from Lunacon was slower than I'd hoped, and with I-Con right around the corner I just never got to the point where I felt up to writing anything.

Last Thursday night (not last night, the one before I-Con), I started losing my voice. I spent much of I-Con with my vowels only slightly more voiced than a whisper, which made singing, well, totally infeasable. Which was a shame, too . . . I haven't finished anything I've been writing, but I had a couple of things I'd been planning on singing at some point during the weekend.

I'm trying to get myself more comfortable singing in public, but it's tough when I can often hear that I'm off but don't know how to correct it, and even tougher when I realize that I don't *always* hear that I'm off. I'm sure it's just a matter of practice, but...

Since I-Con, the missing voice has transformed into a standard stuffed nose, sore throat, mucus in throat illness, complete with the attendant exhaustion and ineffectiveness of my contact lenses. I sort of gave up on the lenses (they're really uncomfortable when I'm ill), and I'm back down to about a -3.5 in each eye.

I'm probably going to spend the day sitting around at home, maybe read, barely possibly get some programming done, quite probably mostly alternate between staring at the computer hoping somebody says something interesting and napping on the sofa. Probably failing to put myself "Away" when I do the latter.

This uncharacteristic whininess brought to you by too much time spent alone and sniffling and not enough of it spend sleeping restfully.

*hug!* I'm sorry you're sick, sweetie. Hope you get some rest and soup soon!
