The other day I said I'd decided I wanted to switch myself onto a more "normal" schedule. When I awoke today, I changed my mind. The hot time is here, and the heat makes me slow and tired. I'm thinking instead that I should go completely nocturnal to get the most out of my waking hours.

If I go to sleep a couple hours after the morning twilight, while it's still cool, I should be able to sleep through the heat of the day, wake slowly as I often do anyway as the day cools into evening, and get my awake hours to coincide with the hours I'm most likely to be able to be effective. I can get errands which require I interact with the real world done either shortly before I sleep, or when I first awake.

It is certainly a schedule I envy, but I worry that if you get too used to it, you may have difficulty finding and/or keeping a full time job. Most interviews take place during daylight hours, and if that is your normal sleep time, you may not come across as well.

I may just be a worrier, or maybe I just wish I could have the luxury of having my life correspond to my biological rhythms.
