For the first time in my experience, the weather was completely uncooperative. It held at a pleasant, if dreary, chilly and drizzly until a bit after 1pm, then started dumping enough to really get things wet. Once everybody had completely given up on being even remotely dry, it calmed down.
Founder's Day was beautiful as always. Special thanks to Ray for a lovely toast, Security for appropriate diligence, current Vassar friends and off-campus friends for their company, old Vassar acquaintences for their comraderie, old Vassar friends for the trip down memory lane, everybody who was there early despite the unpromising weather for the spirit to make things happen, and everybody who stuck around through the rain (particularly those who danced and played in the mud, wish I'd joined you) for finding and keeping the joy that it's all about.
