Poker Chips

Possibly the last of the presents in the mail from last month arrived today.

Flat black aluminum case with chrome hinges, latches, handle, and corners; black plastic feet on two faces. Filled with chips and the usual accoutrements (dice, dealer button, cheap cards).

The chips are 11.5g weighted composite. I've just found a link online to the description of them and image here. The chips have a graphic on one side and a marked denomination on the other, but I think the denominations will work with the numbers we've been using if they're read as "cents" rather than "dollars" (they don't specify unit, just quantity). There are 225 green chips marked "25", 125 black 100s, 50 purple 500s, 50 blue 1000s, 25 red 5000s, and 25 yellow 10,000s. They have a pretty satisfying heft and clink to them.

Hello, Marc. Hope you have been doing well and enjoying all your gaming winnings. Have they gotten good use yet? Your description above is so detailed, I'm curious to know whether it is due to great perceptivity and precision, great familiarity with poker accessories and/or accompanying printed materials?

Thanks. I haven't actually had a chance to use any of them yet, as I've been doing a lot of running around, and not a lot of going to Gaming Sector.

I didn't weigh them, and I'm probably not cool enough to have guessed the weight by hand. Follow the link I provided. Most of the rest of the description (and you should see what I had before I found that link with the picture) is my own.

Hmm. Those would be useful for zendo. Or filk. :P

Why Zendo? I think they'd take up a bit too much table-space for true/false markers. They might work for Giant Zendo, though.

They'd be very useful for poker. *grin*
