I'm back. I'm alive. Boulder was great. The idea of my moving there was raised a couple of times, and I could definitely see it happening. Not to say that it will, but that it's not completely out of the question. I don't know anything about the fannish (and particularly gaming) community out there, though, and it's far from a lot of friends...
Things keep happening in the last week that are reminding me of people in a way that makes me nostalgic/wistful. Which has caused me to notice that some people it's just pleasant to be reminded of, some it's a mixture of that nice feeling and a kind of sadness connected with them, and at least one I pretty much just feel sad. This latter is rather frustrating. I think thinking about who causes which reaction is giving me a better understanding of what people are talking about when they extol the virtues of "closure", though. Perhaps.
I kind of want to say something about religious services (I had a really positive experience in Boulder), but I'm having trouble framing in written word what it was that I appreciated so much about this particular service. Maybe I'll figure it out later...
People seemed to find my last (admittedly cryptic, because I didn't want to announce anything prematurely) post confusing. Or, rather, I think from the comments I received that people thought it was about a topic part of this post is about. I hope I'm striking a good balance in this post between wanting to be direct about what's on my mind and explicitly not wanting to name names. I think most of you know this by now, but I'm usually quite willing to elaborate on whatever's on my mind privately.
