I'm moving to Boston, where I'll be living with my friends [livejournal.com profile] mosephine and [livejournal.com profile] gaiaturtle along with a third person I haven't met. I move in on 1 September. Fortunately (for convenience, unfortunately for the wallet), I have until the end of September to move out of my apartment in Poughkeepsie.

Now that the housing thing is taken care of, it's time to move on to the income thing. Brushed up the resume (updated the address, mostly) then posted it to Monster last night, and have already gotten a couple of nibbles, although I'm not sure how serious they are. If anybody has any leads for software development in the Boston area, I'd love to hear about them.

Also, connections. I don't know that many people up that way. More gamers and fen to meet up with would be welcome. I feel like the circle of people I'm going to meet by spending time with my Vassar friends is missing something.

Sorry to all my friends in Washington, DC and New York that I won't be living near you. I'll try to visit on occasion.

Gabe Ganberg is in Boston (And has become *serious* about martial arts. You wouldn't recognize him). Frisbee Dave can put you in touch with him, if you'd like. He might also be doing computer stuff, not sure if he could be a useful network contact. Will ask D.

Also, Andy knows 2 HS folks who live in Boston. One is a programmer (and amateur photographer -- you might just get along), the other is doing some sort of science geekery, but is likely to know geeky programmy types for either job or friending purposes.

I am jealous that you will be hanging-distance from Crazy Uncle Dave.

Let me know if/when you want names and contact info and introductions. :)
