I'm pet-sitting for [livejournal.com profile] shield_toad111's pets for the week. I've been commenting on some of the cute things they do over on Twitter, but I think this is a bit long to try to phrase in 140 byte chunks.

For those who haven't met them, there are three animals I'm taking care of: Céilidh is the older of the cats, Mhairi is the kitten, and Coda is the parrot. This story is about Mhairi.

Mhairi is very kittenish, and she has a definite propensity to get hyper and want to bounce around playing with things at the most inconvenient times (and often places; on top of me while I'm asleep seems to be a favorite). This morning, I felt her bouncing around on the bed clearly tossing something around and pouncing on it; bouncing from one side of the bed to the other over me and falling off onto the floor and jumping back up and the like in general kittenish glee. Adorable, but *groan* trying to sleep; the usual.

When I actually awoke for real, I realized what it was. Somewhere, she had found a plastic-wrapped fortune cookie. In all her thrashing, she managed to unwrap it and split it open on my bed and floor. The fortune was sitting in the middle of the shards of cookie. Here's her fortune:

[Hang on, I need to go fetch it; while I was writing this, she found the fortune where I had it laid out to transcribe and knocked it to the floor and batted at it for a bit before getting bored and wandering off.]

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

I have no idea what it means.

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

That's from the liturgy, it wound up in the grace after meals, so it's appropriate that it wound up in a fortune cookie.f

Well, I'm sure I'll see you around.

No T.T Unfortunately, Repo doesn't come out on DVD until the day *after* Arisia. But Arisia is doing two screenings of the movie (one Sat @5pm and one during the Steampunk ball) so you should come see it with us.
